Grade 6-8 core subjects. Withdrawal and resource teacher for grades 6 to 8.
Designed and implemented the G.G. Screener to identify and track high-risk students. Designed and implemented a “Learning Through Thinking Program” based on the work of Dr. Donald Meichenbaum. Invited by Dr. Meichenbaum to present a workshop to teachers at the Waterloo Regional School Board to demonstrate the program.

1985-1986 Peel Board of Education – Clark Boulevard Junior School. Grades K to 3 language and reading specialist. Language and reading resource teacher for grades K-3.

1996-1997 Assistant Professor, University of Kentucky School of Medicine, Community Faculty. Instructed medical, psychology and physician’s assistant interns and residents at the Appalachian Regional Psychiatric Center, a 100 bed in-patient psychiatric hospital attached to a 300 bed general hospital in the Appalachian Region of Eastern Kentucky.

1987-2000 Conducted workshops for teachers, parents and physicians on a variety of topics including ADHD, discipline, reading, behavior problems, thinking skills, metacognition etc.

1994-2000 Qualified as an expert witness in child psychopathology and learning problems in criminal, civil and family court in Ontario.

1996-1997 ARH Psychiatric Center, Hazard, KY. Psychologist. Part of a multidisciplinary team evaluating and treating individuals with severe mental illness in an in-patient setting. Also provided psychiatric consultations to medical patients in the general hospital. Was responsible for teaching Family Practice and psychiatric interns and residents, psychology interns and physician’s assistants from the University of Kentucky Medical School. Conducted research and presented research papers at Grand Rounds and national conferences.

1997-2000 Director of M-D Healthcare Consultants, P.S.C. Evaluated and treated mentally ill children, adolescents and adults under the supervision of a child psychiatrist and an adult psychiatrist. Conducted research and lectured on mental illness, learning strategies, learning disabilities, ADHD, early onset manic depression and violence and aggression.
